Louis Roederer Cristal 2016 is an iconic prestige vintage Champagne produced from 58% Pinot Noir and 42% Chardonnay, sourced from 32 vineyard plots across some of Champagne’s finest Grand Cru sites. The 2016 vintage benefited from a cool and wet spring followed by a warm, dry and sunny summer, allowing the Pinot Noir to develop intense ripe fruit character while the Chardonnay retained its characteristic precision and saline freshness. The wine displays a bright golden appearance with exceptionally fine, slow-moving bubbles. On the nose, it reveals an elegant combination of acacia and white flowers, roasted lemon, ripe peaches and mirabelle plums, gradually developing delicate iodised, powdery and toasted nuances. On the palate, Cristal 2016 is concentrated yet remarkably refined, combining juicy ripe fruit with a soft, caressing texture and perfectly integrated, almost saline bubbles. Its chalky mineral character brings notes of oyster shell, wheat, citrus and subtle roasted chocolate nuances.
